Mack is looking for a new director of human resources – a rare opportunity to join the Company’s senior management team during a significant period of growth. Reporting directly to the Company’s president, the director of human resources oversees HR activities at the Company’s three Vermont facilities with a focus on managing the organization’s benefit program, as well as recruiting and retaining top talent.
The director of human resources manages staff who execute day-to-day activities at the plant level, including employee engagement through compensation and benefit programs, training and issue resolution. Additionally, this role is responsible for forecasting employment needs, negotiating with benefit providers and is the focal point for Mack’s understanding, implementation and enforcement of federal and state regulations.
As a member of the president’s leadership team, the director of human resources also plays a key role in nurturing a team-oriented, engaging work environment that strives for continuous improvement. This includes planning annual activities such as the Company picnic and holiday tree-lighting party.
Preference will be shown to candidates with proven experience in leveraging in-house and external resources, as well as social media, to meet recruitment goals. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree plus four to 10 years of experience and training. A master’s degree is a plus; however, an equivalent of education and experience may be considered. A successful candidate also will demonstrate significant knowledge of legislation, precedent-setting court and arbitration decisions, and general industry trends that influence Mack policies and procedures. Mack’s director of human resources advises fellow senior staff members, as well as other managers, on HR related activities and should be a good problem solver and communicator. As human resources activities can sometimes include emotional topics, the candidate should be a natural leader skilled at using reason and tact to drive conflict resolution.
At Mack, we know the Company’s mission of Total Customer Satisfaction begins with our employees, and the director of human resources is key to cultivating that resource by ensuring the organization offers competitive compensation packages and advancement opportunities. It is the perfect opportunity for a high-energy, experienced HR professional who can seamlessly combine being a team player with individual initiative to accomplish the Company’s goals.
This position is located in beautiful southern Vermont with an unparalleled quality of life. If interested, please complete Mack’s on-line application form (see link below) or send hard copies of your resume, compensation expectations and a letter of introduction to:
