Mack Molding has an opening for an HR manager at its Headquarters in Arlington, Vt. As its most important resource Mack takes pride in its employees, and the HR manager helps manage the Company’s wealth of talent by managing the daily operations of the employee relations and recruitment functions, as well as participating in developing and achieving strategic objectives for these areas.
In addition to being responsible for coordinating, facilitating and managing employee relations, communication and issue resolution, the HR manager provides consultation, coaching and mediation services for conflict resolution, and oversight for performance management throughout the organization. Additionally, this role trains, councils and coaches supervisors and managers in company policies and procedures; manages performance evaluations and orientation programs; and generally develops, manages and provides consistent application of company policies and procedures, with strict adherence to State and Federal laws. Playing a key role in not only managing existing personnel, this role also is responsible for managing the full recruitment cycle for open positions within the organization utilizing a variety of candidate sources, while working with the director of human resources and other department leaders to manage the planning, developing and implementation of innovative recruitment strategies to meet current and future staffing needs. Further responsibilities include collaborating with the Company’s occupational health nurse on case management of workers’ compensation and accident investigations; managing state and federal Family and Medical Leave policy and practices; prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews; ensures integrity of employee records and files; and provides and facilitates employee training and development programs and opportunities. Within this highly visible role, the HR manager also will assist with the employee health benefits negotiation and renewal process, as well as supervise administrative assistants.
This is a great position for a practical problem solver with strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in human resources or organizational management along with 5-7 years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Candidates with PHR or SPHR certification are preferred. Successful candidates also will have demonstrated knowledge of human resource systems, as well as various word processing and spreadsheet software.
