That is why the plant facilities manager provides a key role in providing direction, management, and safety protocols in the construction and maintenance of our plant and its machinery.
The Facilities Manager plays a key role in keeping our company running smoothly. The manager is responsible for the maintenance of manufacturing, warehouse, and office space, as well as grounds. This impressive responsibility includes managing the plant preventive maintenance program, plant hazardous waste stream program, plant safety program, alongside several state and federal regulatory program requirements. Additionally, this positions is accountable for the inspection and installation process to ensure conformance various program specifications. Externally, this position is expected to negotiate coordinates with local contractors for services to maintain the facility and equipment, and act as a liaison to public utility, environmental, and energy agencies. Internally, the applicant must supervise and delegate work to a team of maintenance personnel and act as an incident commander in emergency situations. This unique role in the company requires adept management and problem solving skills, along with sound, timely judgement concerning the safety and security of the company.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and five to seven years of related experience or training. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have clear and confident oral and written communication skills, exceptional project management, and leadership skills that allow for constructive and useful feedback when dealing with subordinates. Displaying dependability by reaching commitments on time and being prepared to work long hours to complete pressing tasks will set apart applicants.
