The customer service associate is responsible for interfacing with multiple customers and performing order management, utilizing an understanding of lead times, quantity breaks and pricing models to shepherd customers through the ordering process, including entry; order acknowledgement; expediting and tracking shipments; confirming deliveries; and generally providing resolution of pricing, billing and payment discrepancies. Additionally, he/she maintains current price lists. It is a highly visible position, with the customer service associate working as a liaison between the production floor and the customer to influence scheduling, ensuring there minimal disruptions to customer satisfaction, as well as frequent and accurate information is given to all customers.
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of plastic or related industry experience in operations, production or quality. A successful candidate will possess above average verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, MRP and ERP programs and EDI. Specific experience with MAPICS is a plus. He/she must have strong organizational skills, and be team-player and a self-starter with the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
