Mack is looking for an electromechanical manufacturing supervisor – an organized self-starter with the ability to be an effective, supportive leader – to coordinate and direct workers engaged in complex, electro-mechanical assemblies at its headquarters in stunning southern Vermont.
Mack has established itself as a reliable, worldwide leader in injection molding and contract manufacturing in a number of diverse markets, including medical, industrial, transportation, energy/environment, computer and business, and consumer products. As the manufacturing arm of its customers, Mack’s supervisors play a key role in cultivating the Company’s reputation by providing leadership to, as well as evaluating and training, twenty or more hourly employees working on complex, electro-mechanical assemblies. This includes developing daily labor plans to meet customer delivery schedules, ensure quality and production goals are met and troubleshoot problems as required. The supervisor also provides technical leadership for department, including recommending and implementing equipment, process and material enhancements; analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements and workflow, including design layouts for equipment and workspace; and ensures all ISO procedures are followed with a keen focus on quality, including making process improvement recommendations. This is a highly visible role that required a good communicator who can manage relations with internal stakeholders and external customers. Additional responsibilities include researching new technologies to make recommendations on the procurement of equipment; supporting calibration requirements, gage tracking and disposition; assisting in process risk assessments; and coordinating price check analysis.
The ideal candidate will have an associate degree from an accredited college or university, plus 1-2 years of related manufacturing experience or training. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may also be considered. Previous experience with hardware/software integration, as well as associated testing and troubleshooting, is desirable. Candidates with Lean and/or Six Sigma certification and experience will be given preference. Additionally, successful candidates will have working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, inventory, internet and manufacturing software, along with order processing systems.
