As the manufacturing arm for our customers, Mack has built a worldwide reputation as a reliable provider of plastic injection molding and contract manufacturing services in a number of diverse markets, including medical, industrial, transportation, energy/environment, computer and business, and consumer products. Many would say the finishing technician is an integral part of our success. The objectives of this position are to optimize the quality, repeatability and efficiency of production, ultimately achieving the high level of product quality our customers demand. The finishing technician utilizes their expertise to maintain machinery, troubleshooting problems and performing regular cleanings of special equipment, including the deionizer washer, ESD mats and ionizers – ultimately helping achieve Mack’s mission of Total Customer Satisfaction. Additionally, he/she performs set-ups for testing equipment/stations, silk screening, pad printing, heat staking, milling, sonic welding, press brake, rivet machines and laser etching. Other responsibilities include verifying calibrated torque on guns according to work instructions; performing initial start-ups of job for samples and production; and assisting with initial first piece preparation and inspections. The Finishing Technician also performs Installation Qualifications (IQ); maintains machinery and/or tooling to maximize efficiency and quality of production; troubleshoots parts, assemblies, equipment and machinery for production; initiates problem reports; and participates and drives cost reduction initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have previous finishing experience along with an associate’s degree or certificate from a two-year college or technical school. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may also be considered. Additionally, he/she should have the ability to quickly analyze, identify and efficiently correct equipment problems.
