As the manufacturing arm of our customers Mack’s mission is nothing short of Total Customer Satisfaction, and the Quality Department is the linchpin in the Company’s successful execution of that goal. That is why Mack is looking for a detail oriented, quality-minded team player to join the team as a first shift incoming inspector at the Company’s Headquarters.
Mack works with leading-edge technologies for some of the top fortune 500 companies, as well as start-up organizations, and the Company’s incoming inspectors are on the front-lines when it comes to ensuring we meet the high standards our customers demand. Mack has built a worldwide reputation for plastic injection molding, machining, design work, sheet metal fabrication and contract manufacturing by custom manufacturing to our customers’ product specifications – and the incoming inspector plays a key role in establishing that prominence. This role is responsible for performing a variety of quality tests and product verification procedures to ensure parts are in compliance with customer specifications and ISO requirements. Additionally, the incoming inspector performs minor repairs, processes part requisitions and inventory transactions, audits hold areas for compliance and performs cycle counting as required to maintain 98% inventory accuracy. He/she also properly labels, identifies inspection status, and stores in accepted product per applicable ISO procedures; maintains open lines of communication regarding quality issues with stakeholders; recommends to required modifications to work instructions and assists with training; and initiates ISO quality documentation for approval.
The ideal candidate will have a one-year certificate from a college or technical school. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may also be considered. Knowledge of ISO quality standards, procedures and instructions, along with familiarity with measuring devices and previous auditor, finishing, assembly and/or manufacturing experience, is preferred. This position also requires basic reading and math skills needed to understand and use prints, procedures and instructions and basic computer skills. Knowledge of inventory and safety programs, forklift operations and team facilitation will benefit a successful candidate as well. In addition to basic technical and mechanical aptitude, this role calls for an effective written and verbal communicator with strong leadership and organizational skills. The incoming inspector must be self-motivated, while possessing the ability to train and motivate others.
