At the core of our business is manufacturing, and Mack is looking for a manufacturing engineer to join its Southern Division at the Company’s Inman, S.C., facility, who can combine creative thinking, technical know-how and an analytical mind to shepherd programs from concept through prototyping and clinical evaluations to phase in and ramp up. As a manufacturing engineer, you will be a vital member of the team responsible for launching new products, creative solutions and sustaining engineering. You will have significant access to the breadth of the organization, working with the engineering and manufacturing organizations at all levels to drive operations efficiently, economically and effectively to ensure we achieve Mack’s mission of Total Customer Satisfaction. Additionally, manufacturing engineers are responsible for anticipating manufacturing, facility, environmental and equipment needs, as well as identifying known or possible manufacturing, health, safety and environmental risks. This includes, but is not limited to, providing manufacturing cost estimates for labor, input on design (DFM) and required capital equipment; reviewing customer specifications and tooling requirements; and developing production lines, work instructions and assisting with personnel training.
The ideal candidate will have a high level of technical expertise and skill, and in particularly a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial or electrical engineering. The preferred candidate will have one to two years of related experience or training in a manufacturing environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Additionally, they will need to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry. Along with knowledge of CAD, word processing and spreadsheet software, a successful candidate will have strong problem solving and project management skills. This role requires strong communicator with the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
