The material expediter’s additional responsibilities include ensuring parts are in compliance with customer specifications, ISO requirements and/or customer component quality requirements, including performing a variety of quality tests and cycle counting as required to maintain inventory accuracy. He/she also will perform minor product repair; retrieve purchased part line rejects from manufacturing areas and disposition them as directed; track purchased parts; and run summarized bills.
The ideal candidate will have a one year certificate from any college or technical school, along with prior experience with finishing, assembly or manufacturing work. Preferred candidates will have demonstrated knowledge of ISO quality standards and procedures, as well as experience with inventory, safety programs, forklift operations and team facilitation. Use of basic computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel), along with strong leadership and organizational skills are required, as the material expediter must maintain open lines of communication regarding quality issues within departments, including various logs and reports, as well as follows up on open issues. Additionally, this role calls for the utilization of measuring devices, requiring the ability to apply basic mathematical equations.
