Mack Molding Headquarters, located in stunning southern Vermont, is searching for a procurement specialist – a savvy, problem solving individual able to communicate with employees, suppliers and customers – to coordinate the procurement and distribution of materials and supplies for the Company.
Mack is a reliable, worldwide leader in plastic injection molding and contract manufacturing in the medical, industrial, transportation, energy/environment, computer and business, and consumer product markets. Mack’s procurement specialist plays a key role in sustaining the Company’s reputation by providing accurate, timely information to internal stakeholders regarding delivery schedules and supplier flexibility. Responsibilities include managing standard costing documents and inventory levels, as well as running scheduled receipts for expediting and entering orders for return of rejected items to suppliers. This position requires adaptability in the face of changing business and supplier needs and input about on time deliveries and customer service supplier ratings. On a daily basis, he or she will be expected to make commitments about purchased items for new or change orders, write and sign requisitions and purchase orders, and review MRP and manufacturing schedules.
This is a highly visible role to Mack suppliers that requires professionalism and cooperation. Proficiency in written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills are needed. Understanding implications of business decisions and being able to manage difficult situations with composure are essential skills for this position.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, plus one to two years of related experience or training. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Adept language ability that allows an individual to effectively interpret professional texts, present information, and provide constructive feedback is desired, as well as basic algebra and geometrical knowledge. Additionally, the candidate should have skills in word processing, spreadsheet, inventory, and manufacturing software. While raw knowledge and education is needed, the ability to use this intelligence to reason through problems and create solutions with concrete variables will set applicants apart.
Employees are one of the Company’s most valuable assets, and Mack is committed to honoring their contributions through competitive compensation packages, diverse career paths, advancement opportunities and by nurturing a team-oriented, engaging work environment.
