Mack is currently looking for purchasing manager to oversee the procurement of raw materials, packaging, equipment, and supplies with a focus on meeting cost, quality and delivery goals while managing purchasing associates at the Company’s Inman, S.C., facility. Responsibilities include reviewing MRP and schedules to anticipate required materials, products and supplies needed to meet production requirements; managing and establish strong business relationships with suppliers; and managing past due and shortage reports, while driving suppliers to meet on-time delivery initiatives. The purchasing manager also drives positive purchase price variance to reduce cost and drive increased profitability in the Company, maintains the approved supplier listing in accordance with IATF guidelines and procedures; and reviews all purchase orders to ensure price competitiveness, solicit alternative bids and notify management of price increases. Additionally, this role works with sales and engineering, as well as manufacturing personnel, to provide quotations and samples as requested; maintains quarterly reports to track rebates or discounts from suppliers; manages the recycling process of scrap material, including grinding and blending for reuse or disposal; and maintaining the purchasing and receiving inspection processes.
The ideal candidate will have a college degree or equivalent experience in purchasing or materials related activities. Successful candidates will have significant experience with MRP systems and the Microsoft Office software suite, along with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. He/she should be a strong communicator who can have dialogue with all levels of the organization, as well as possess the ability to train, assign, coach, counsel, and discipline employees by communicating job expectations and enforcing company policies and procedures.
