This Senior Accountant position is a key member within the Finance Team that will support various aspects of finance and accounting for the company. The ideal candidate will need to be effective in a general accounting function, and possess strong analytical, technical and professional accounting skills. The position requires a solid accounting background combined with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. This role requires a candidate who is familiar with general accounting responsibilities, financial analysis and general ledger activities; including journal entries, intercompany transactions and account reconciliations. Responsibilities include managing the general ledger and accounting for activity accurately, in addition to financial reporting and analysis, as well as maintaining the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers such as revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property and operating expenses. The senior accountant also assists the controller in closing the corporate books and developing financial statements. He/she will implement goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to financial management, budget, and accounting; perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries; and generate month end accruals. Additional tasks include preparing reports to assist other departments with understanding and properly using financial data; performs internal audits; providing backup for other financial functions; and generating ideas for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Some occasional travel to other Company locations is required.
A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required for this position, plus a minimum of five years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis in a manufacturing environment. Preference will be shown to applicants with a CPA license an MBA. Successful candidates will demonstrate outstanding use of spreadsheet and word processing software. Proficiency in ERP systems, and more specifically Mapics, is desirable. Additionally, candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment.
