This Staff Accountant position is a key member within the Finance Team that will support various aspects of finance and accounting for the company. The ideal candidate will need to be effective in general accounting functions. The position requires a solid accounting background combined with strong analytical skills. This role requires a candidate who is familiar with general accounting responsibilities and general ledger activities; including journal entries and account reconciliations. This role will primarily focus on financial reporting of inventory.
Responsibilities include analyzing inventory for financial reporting; supporting the Finance team in closing the corporate books and preparing financial statements; and performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries, as well as generating month-end accruals. The Staff Accountant also prepares reports to assist other departments with understanding and using financial data, performs internal audits and provides backup for other financial functions. This role is called upon to generate ideas for cost savings and efficiency improvements, as well as other projects as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required for this position. A minimum of two years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis in a manufacturing environment is preferred, and preference will be shown to applicants with a CPA license, MS or an MBA. Successful candidates will demonstrate outstanding use of spreadsheet and word processing software, along with analytical, technical and professional accounting skills. Proficiency in ERP systems, and more specifically Mapics, is desirable. Additionally, candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and have a keen attention to detail, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment.
