As the manufacturing arm for our customers Mack has built a worldwide reputation as a reliable provider of plastic injection molding and contract manufacturing services. Mack’s tool makers play a key role in securing the Company’s reputation by delivering on its mission of Total Customer Satisfaction, and Mack is looking for tool maker to join the manufacturing team at its Headquarters.
Responsibilities include operating and maintaining all tool room equipment and machinery, including troubleshooting and repairing molds, tools, fixtures and hydraulic cylinders to maximize efficiency and quality of production. Additionally, the tool maker designs and builds fixtures; maintains required inventories to support department functions; and helps with cost reduction initiatives. In addition to maintaining a fork truck/lift certification, he/she must read and follow all ISO procedures, as well as complete departmental paperwork, daily preps, sheets and logs.
The ideal candidate will have an associate’s degree or certificate from a two-year college or technical school, preferably a tool and die trade school. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Commitment to the Vermont Tool and Die Apprenticeship Program will be required of a successful candidate. Applicants should have a strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to operate all machinist tools, equipment, and hand tools in the department safely. Successful candidates will have a working knowledge of basic electrical wiring.
