A broad and burgeoning market, Energy/Environment is comprised of two categories of products at Mack — alternative energy sources and products that preserve and maximize energy. Applications in both categories typically require engineering resins that can withstand harsh conditions in terms of temperature, corrosion, wear, strength, stability and/or chemical resistance.
Mack has over 90 years of injection molding experience, with 120 presses ranging from 28 to 4000 tons. We are veterans at solid injection, structural foam, overmolding, gas-assist and two-shot molding, and have processed the full gamut of performance materials from commodity grades to heat-sensitive PVC resins to conductive and engineering polymers.
For stationary battery manufacturers, for example, Mack has become the recognized leader with over 50 years of industry experience that includes molding, annealing, testing and silk screening.
For a solar-powered light pole, an array of Mack’s services are called into action, including machining; sheet metal fabrication; printed circuit board assembly by our sister division, Mack Technologies; supply chain management; prototyping; final programming; 100 percent electronic and functional testing; and full-product manufacturing.
The Inovus light pole is revolutionary, offering lower installation cost — no trenching, wire, conduit, circuits, labor, or grid connection; lower operating cost — no electricity cost, ever; and sustainability — free energy from the sun.
Mack also manufactures components for ENERGY STAR® Efficient appliances; flooring products made with up to 100 percent recycled content; and furnishings molded from recycled plastic bottles.
As only the third manufacturer in Vermont to earn the state’s Environmental Leader designation, Mack not only helps other companies develop environmentally friendly products, but follows environmentally sustainable practices itself. The Southern Operations has been certified to ISO 14001 standards, and the Northern Operations recently earned the state of Vermont’s Environmental Leader designation, a classification that distinguishes exemplary environmental management programs.
