FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ARLINGTON, Vt. – Mack Molding is further honing its medical manufacturing skill set with the addition of Ed Bolz as senior staff engineer at its headquarters plant, where he will focus primarily on medical device design and product development.
“Ed brings over 16 years of medical product design and automation experience to Mack, including a long stint with Sherwood Medical in nearby New York State,” says Jeff Somple, president of Mack Molding’s northern operations. “For the past four years, he has run his own engineering design firm in Rochester, N.Y., during which time he also acquired a patent for a self-retracting safety syringe design. Ed’s knowledge base will contribute significantly as Mack continues to augment the product development and manufacturing services we offer the medical marketplace.”
As a medical product designer, Bolz is well versed in the GMP, ISO and FDA requirements that essentially guarantee the ongoing production of safe, high-quality products. Mack undergoes regular, exhaustive inspections to certify its compliance with these standards, which is critical to its success as a medical manufacturer.
Bolz earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York at Binghamton, Watson School of Engineering.
He currently resides in Rochester, N.Y., but plans to relocate to southern Vermont with his wife, Sheila, and children, Lauren, age 9, and Matthew, age 7.
