ARLINGTON, Vt. (April 12, 2022) – Strong demand for Mack Molding’s plastic injection molding and contract manufacturing services continues, fueling the addition of several engineering and business professionals to the Company’s manufacturing, quality, sales and engineering, purchasing and finance teams.
“Over the past few years we have experienced significant growth, which we have supported with investments in new equipment and personnel,” said Mack Molding President Jeff Somple. “The pandemic led to increased demand for our customers’ technologies – everything from air purification units to medical devices and mail sorting machines – and we are focused on securing the talent necessary to get these critical products to market.”
Mat Degan has joined the Finance Department at Mack HQ as Corporate Risk Manager, responsible for implementing sound internal controls, as well as managing insurance and customer credit, and executing day-to-day treasury operations. Degan most recently served as assistant vice president at Brown Brothers Harriman in Boston, Mass. He also built financial expertise as an analyst with J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Washington, D.C., and as a marketing associate for J.P. Morgan Securities in Boston. He has a bachelor’s degree in English and political science from The University of Vermont in Burlington, Vt., and is FINRA Series 7 and 66 certified.
Heath Murphy has been appointed Quality Assurance Manager in the Quality Department at the Company’s Headquarters. Murphy brings nearly 20 years of quality experience to the role, having most recently served as senior manager of quality and production resources at Kaman Composites in Bennington, Vt. He has also previously worked as a quality manager and quality engineer at Kaman. During his tenure, Murphy gained valuable experience in cross-functional leadership, employee development, quality assurance and continuous improvement. He has Six Sigma Green and Black Belts and an associate of science degree in mechanical engineering from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, N.Y.
The Sales & Engineering Department at Mack HQ has welcomed Tim McCart as an Account manager. McCart is a seasoned customer management professional with more than 20 years of experience in building customer relationships. Prior to Mack, he most recently worked for Hemmings Motor News in Bennington, Vt., as a multi-media advertising executive managing more than 100 large accounts for automotive-related companies. He previously built account management expertise as a single copy sales manager with The Bennington Banner in Bennington, as well as in district sales manager roles with The Troy Record in Troy, N.Y., and The Bucks County Currier Times in Levittown, Penn.
Anthony Thompson joined the Sales & Engineering Team at Mack Headquarters as a Program Manager. Thompson brings significant engineering and customer management experience to the role. He most recently worked for Tymetal in Greenwich, N.Y., as a technical service and strategic delivery manager, where he gained valuable experience in process optimization and coordinating with a cross-functional team to meet customer expectations. Prior to that he was an engineering technician IV with Dell Services. Thompson served as a Machinist Mate Second Class with the United States Navy. He has a bachelor of science degree in operations management and project management from Southern New Hampshire University.
Dan Bradford has been appointed Materials Manager at Mack Headquarters responsible for directing the activities of personnel engaged in distributing materials, equipment and supplies, as well as for controlling inventories and designing, implementing and maintaining material handling processes and equipment throughout the facility. Bradford brings a decade of experience in distribution analytics, manufacturing operations and inventory control to the role. He most recently worked as a materials manager for Virginia Transformer in Pocatello, Idaho, and gained previous experience as material analyst and supplier planner with Autoliv. Bradford, who is a Six Sigma Green Belt, has a bachelor’s degree in business supply chain management from Brigham Young University, Idaho.
Andy Romack has accepted the position of Associate Program Manager on the Sales & Engineering team at Mack HQ. Prior to this role, Romack became familiar with Mack’s processes and culture as a manufacturing engineer at Headquarters, and prior to that as a design and tooling engineering intern at Mack, assisting in the production of injection molded parts and medical devices. This included designing a masking solution for parts requiring paint and EMI shielding. He has a bachelor of science degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Rochester, in Rochester, N.Y., where he received the Biomedical Engineering Society Award for outstanding presentations.
The Quality Engineering team at Mack HQ has welcomed Michael Begg as a Quality Engineer. Before joining Mack, Begg most recently worked as a mechanical engineer at Prion Manufacturing in Oakdale, Penn., where he gained valuable experience in quality assurance, precision equipment and tooling set up. His responsibilities included performing secondary operations and ensuring parts adhered to ISO 9001 quality standards. He also previously worked as an applications engineer with Frustum Incorporated in Boulder, Colo. Begg has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y.
Chris Dussault has accepted the position of Manufacturing Engineer at Mack HQ, bringing more than 30 years of manufacturing engineering experience to the Company. During his career Dussault has built expertise in mechanical design, establishing inspection criteria, root problem analysis and continuous improvement. Prior to Mack he most recently was an engineer with MHPRO Engineering in Clifton Park, N.Y. He also previously served as lead mechanical design engineer for Abacus Automation, as well as manufacturing engineering roles with NSK and Bijur Lubricating Corp – all of Bennington, Vt. Dussault has a bachelor of science degree from Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vt.
Connor Melvin has been appointed as a Manufacturing Engineer at Headquarters. Prior to Mack Melvin most recently worked as an associate mechanical engineer for Collins Aerospace in Binghamton, N.Y. Within that role he was responsible for designing and modeling components for assembly, as well as working with interdisciplinary teams on installation and troubleshooting. He gained previous engineering experience as a mechanical engineer with MAJR Products in Saegertown, Penn., and as a production machinist with Doutt Tool, Inc., in Cambridge Springs, Penn. Melvin has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Penn.
David Seals has joined the Manufacturing Engineering Department at Mack’s Inman, S.C., facility, as a Manufacturing Engineer. Seals brings broad manufacturing and process improvement experience to the role, including previous work experience as a painter, machinist, assembler and drafter at Baker Oil Tools in Tulsa, Okla. Most recently he served as an associate product engineer with Hubbell Lighting in Greenville, S.C. Seals also gained previous engineering experience as a mechanical designer for McLaughlin Group Inc., in Greenville, as well as BBM-CPG Technology in Laurens, S.C. He has a bachelor of science degree in operations management from Southern New Hampshire University.
Mack Headquarters in Arlington, Vt., has welcomed Hunter Tyminski as a Manufacturing Engineer. He brings strong computer aided design skills to the role with experience in Solidworks, MATLAB & Autodesk Inventor. Tyminski most recently served as an industrial engineer for Ace Hardware in Gansevoort, N.Y. During his tenure with Ace, Tyminski specialized in driving operational efficiencies by collecting data to build models comparing similar departments from stores around the United States. He has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo and associate of science degree in engineering science from SUNY Adirondack.
Mack’s Inman, S.C., team welcomed Steve Meyerink, who has joined the Sales & Engineering team as Tooling Engineer. As a Journeyman Toolmaker, Meyerink brings nearly 40 years of plastic injection mold building and management experience to Mack, including expertise in the building and designing of injection molds. He also has nine years of program management in mold making. He most recently worked as a program manager with United Tool & Mold in Greenville, S.C. Meyerink also previously gained tooling experience with Delta Mold Inc. in Charlotte, N.C.; as well as H.S. Die & Engineering and Quality Die & Mold, both in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The Application Development Center at Mack HQ has welcomed Matthew Woodard as a Tool Design Engineer. Woodard is experienced in process engineering, quality engineering and production. He most recently was a process engineer for CY Plastics in Honeoye, N.Y., where he priced new molds and served as a liaison between mold makers and customers during the mold design process. He previously served as a quality engineer for Gunlocke in Wayland, N.Y., a production supervisor at Guardian Industries Corp. in Geneva, N.Y., and as a process engineering intern with North Pacific Paper Co. in Longview, Wash. Woodard has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from The Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y.
Mack’s Cavendish facility welcomed Gary Guerin as a Process Engineer. Guerin brings 15 years of process engineering and plastic injection molding experience to the role. He most recently served as a senior process engineer with Albea in Thomaston, Conn. Previously, Guerin worked as a process engineer and lead technician with Torrington, Conn.-based Aptar and with Becton Dickinson in Canaan, Conn., where he worked as an injection molding technician, in quality assurance, and as an assembly and packaging technician. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and has an associate of science degree from Northwestern Connecticut Community college along with Systematic Molding and Mold Master I certifications from RJG.
Mack Headquarters has welcomed Taylor Brandt as a Quality Engineer focused on complaint analysis and reporting services related to customer returned goods in the Company’s medical business. Prior to Mack, Brandt most recently served as a public health sanitarian for the New York state Department of Health (NYDOH), performing inspections of restaurants, pools, hotels, water systems and childhood hazardous lead conditions. She also previously worked for NYDOH as a public health inspector, developing strong laboratory organization and analysis skills, as well as a keen focus on quality. Brandt has bachelor’s degrees in biology and anthropology from the State University of New York at Oneonta.
Elisha Rogers accepted the position of Quality Engineer at Mack Headquarter, bringing 10 years of manufacturing experience. Rogers came to Mack from Kaman Composites in Bennington, Vt., where she worked as a quality manager and a program manager, regularly interfacing with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure a compliant and functioning quality management system structured around ensuring customer satisfaction. During her tenure with Kaman, Rogers served in increasing roles of responsibility, working in roles that included quality engineering technician and quality specialist.
The Engineering Department at Mack’s Cavendish facility welcomed Caleb White as a Manufacturing and Quality Engineer. White previously served as a quality engineer at Mack’s headquarters. Prior to Mack he gained engineering experience as an intern with Integrity Integration in West Lebanon, N.H., where he worked on mechanical design and critical analysis of wiring layouts, including updating mechanical drawings, assembling mechanical subsystems and reworking components for systems and internal fixtures. White has a bachelor of science degree in electromechanical engineering technology and an associate of engineering degree in mechanical engineering technology, both from Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center, Vt.
Kelsey Ernest has joined the Sales & Engineering team at Mack Headquarters as a Sales Service Representative. Ernest most recently served as a shipper/receiver at Mack HQ and became familiar with the Company’s processes and procedures. Prior to Mack, Ernest was a customer service associate for Home Depot in Bennington, Vt., where she gained valuable experience in developing customer relationships by providing effective solutions to their needs. She also previously worked as a stockroom lead for Lenco Industries, Inc., in Pittsfield, Mass., and as a sales associate with Sherwin Williams in East Greenbush, N.Y.
The HQ Sales & Engineering team also welcomed Shannon McDermott as a Sales Service Representative. Prior to Mack, McDermott was the owner and operator of Divine Spirit in Sandgate, Vt., where she honed her customer service skills. As a business owner, McDermott also developed expertise in pricing, inventory management, shipping and the research and resolution of customer requests. She previously built customer service experience as a customer sales specialist with the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles and a juvenile court docket clerk with the Vermont Superior Court – both in Bennington.
Samantha Brewer has joined the Procurement team at Mack Headquarters as a Procurement Specialist responsible for coordinating the procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies. Prior to Mack, Brewer was an office assistant at Jim Gerard Landscape Maintenance Corporation in Queensbury N.Y., where she gained valuable experience in business operations. She also previously worked as a medical secretary with Community Care Physicians in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., as well as a customer care and data specialist, with The Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York. Brewer as a bachelor of business administration degree from Russell Sage College in Troy, N.Y.
The HQ Procurement department also welcomed Courtney Dukette as a Purchasing Specialist. Prior to Mack, Dukette most recently worked as a purchasing clerk for Dailey Precast in Shaftsbury, Vt. During her tenure, Dukette established a track record of working with multiple departments across the organization to ensure goods were ordered and supplies were consistent. She was previously employed as assistant manager of Radio Shack in Bennington, Vt. Dukette has an associate of arts degree from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, N.Y.
Weslyn Becker has accepted the position of Receptionist on the Human Resources team at Mack Headquarters. Becker comes to Mack from the West Mountain Animal Hospital in Bennington, Vt., where she was a veterinarian assistant and client services representative. Within that role she facilitated the flow of communication, including greeting clients and connecting clients with appropriate staff members. Prior to West Mountain Animal Hospital, Becker served as office coordinator at D.B. McKenna & Co., as well as a customer service leader at Hannaford Supermarkets – both in Bennington.
